On the 14th April our Kido had given birth to two adorable kittens. I was very excited when our Kido was expecting her 1st kittens, but also a little bit afraid that something would go wrong. A month before her delivery she was feeling quite uncomfortable and meowing; once she also fell off the chair on which she was sleeping. Kido’s mom had eaten her kittens twice; my cousin calls her a cannibal. I didn’t hope that something like that would happen with Kido’s kittens, because she would act wildly with her mom and sister sometimes. My cousin told me that cat’s eat their kittens if the kittens are unhealthy. As Kido’s pregnancy drew nearer she seemed like having turned in a soft and caring cat and liked being licked by her mom. When the kittens arrived, she got so attached to her kittens that she didn’t come out of her box for three days, not even to have her meal. She only ate a piece of bread that my younger sister had given to her. She seemed to be a very caring and proud mom. I think it’s the same with human beings; a child turns a woman into a softer and more caring person. I know someone who would seem angry, would scold out and kind off would shut herself out of others, but when the baby arrived and I met her, she had turned into a pleasantly talking and caring person who liked interacting with others; I was completely surprised. Now Kido had turned very weak and I was afraid something would happen to her; her kittens needed her. But gradually she started eating, and now she’s eating more than ever before. Cats mostly don’t like human beings touching their kittens in the beginning; otherwise they hide their kittens somewhere else. We hadn’t touched her kittens, but we did look at them. I think she wasn’t comfortable with that and hid them in another box that she had discovered between some old things. About a week ago, I had touched the kittens for the 1st time and also took these pictures. One was actually trying to get out of the box. The kittens are now out of the box and exploring the place.

My baby is almost 1 year!
Hope you guys had enjoyed your Easter.
At night on Easter Sunday everyone at home, except for dad (who’s throat was hurting), went to ‘White Beach’. We met up with my aunt, uncle, cousins and their friends out there and had a lot of fun, especially with my two cousins who were wearing sunglasses at night as headbands and went swimming along with their sunglasses. When one of my cousins put on her very glittering sunglasses we all bursted out in a laugh. The riverwater was superb and the cold breeze gave us a warm welcome. It was crowded by lots of people and now and then enjoyed watching boats passing by. The food was also very yum; my younger sister had made filled bara’s and aunt had brought fried rice, teloh and also bara (but not filled) from home. I think I needed this outing; I had been feeling very tired for quite some time without having done anything tiresome. These are some smiling faces I had captured in dad’s camera.
It was almost 4.30 in the morning when we reached home. My elder sister also came home from Saint Lucia in the morning, but she was in a deep sleep when we reached home. When I woke up in the morning I got this cute pencil from her.;)
Wishing all moms a happy mother’s day in advance; because of you, this world is special!;)

Kido’s younger sister wishing you a happy Easter!
Easter is a celebration in remembrance of Jesus waking up from his death. It’s also considered a spring celebration. The reason why bunnies and eggs are connected with Easter is that baby bunnies are born and chicks come out of their eggs in the spring. Eggs are also eaten by Christians who fast before Easter, to get their strength back. In the past, people used to place eggs in their fields or they would hide them in the ground to make their fields more productive.
Wishing everyone who celebrates Easter, a happy Easter! At nursery school we would make fun looking Easter decorations. Have fun painting, plastering, decorating or coloring eggs and hiding them in your garden!:)
I would like you to meet Kido’s younger sister.:)
I’ve searched for some fun Easter decorations. I’m not a Christian, but these are some decorations I like.
With these colorful reusable Easter GelGems
your kids can create their own Easter basket filled with goodies and eggs on any smooth surface. Peel it off when you have celebrated your Easter in 2011 and you can use it again in 2012.;)
I also like these Easter Bunny Stickers (4 sheets/pkg). Two weeks ago I had stuck an Easter bunny sticker on a postcard for a friend. My postcard was looking much more fun with a sticker on it. I think that the smiling bunny will put a smile on her face when she’ll receive my postcard.
Or these beautiful S&S Worldwide Easter Cutouts
are also fun to decorate baskets or your home with.

My first real pencil drawings at campus
I would like to share with you, my first real pencil drawings at campus. At first our teacher had placed a pot with a plant on a table and we had to draw it. This drawing was made in December 2003. I’ve edited the color of this drawing scan a little bit so you can see better what I had drawn; this drawing actually wasn’t made with a drawing pencil (B pencil). My biggest mistake in this drawing was that my drawing is on one side of the sheet.
After having rehearsed in the classroom, we had to make drawings at Fort Zeelandia. First, I had rehearsed with two uncompleted drawings of buildings out there. This was my first drawing of a monumental building that I had completed. I did a little bit of cheating with this drawing; we actually weren’t allowed to use a ruler, but I had difficulties drawing free- handed straight lines, so I drew some lines lightly with a ruler and then drew free-handed over those lightly drawn lines. My biggest mistake in this drawing is that I hadn’t used a disappearing point at one side.
One of the students had borrowed my final drawing, and she had lost it, so I can’t share that one with you guys.
“It is not practice that makes perfect; it is imperfect practice that eventually makes perfect.”—Brian Tracy
It’s been years that I made real pencil drawings; I actually rather like drawing with drawing softwares on the computer/laptop. I’m actually in the mood now to make some real pencil drawings. I think I’ll make some real sketches after I’m done with my thesis.
If you want to make sketches along with me here are some tools for you guys. If you need some guidance, you could try the old bestseller Keys to Drawing. Maybe I should be getting one for myself. People who didn’t believe that they could draw and who have tried the exercises from this book love this book, cause they discovered that they actually are capable of making beautiful drawings.
For some good pencils from 9B to H, try Derwent Graphic Pencil Sketch Set/12 and blend the colors to your heart’s content to draw that beautiful sketch you desire!

Neighbor’s doggies in our yard
Some time ago our neighbor’s dog had given birth to puppies in our yard. Puppies are born about two months after the dog feast (conception). Unlike with humans, dog pregnancy can’t be diagnosed with urine test. Though it can be diagnosed with blood test, with x-rays or the vet can diagnose it by feeling the dog’s abdomen (that is about after a month). In Suriname, most dogs deliver their puppies without human involvement, just like the mom of these puppies. All her puppies were born healthy. Our neighbor took the puppies away when they got bigger and came out of their nest; they were hidden under old boards. I had clicked some pictures that I would like to share with you guys. Aren’t they cute and adorable? I’m like aaahh when I look at these pictures; they were so cute. Our dog 'Bello' is probably the dad of these adorable puppies.
This is our Bello. He likes sleeping on his back like a human being and he loves attention and being cuddled. He used to do very naughty things like taking cloths to dry from the line and placing them at the entrance of our yard outside or sometimes he would take shoes and socks and make them dirty; maybe he wanted more attention. I actually don’t really know why he had started with this kind of behavior. He got some scolding from my younger brother so he stopped with his odd behavior and I’m glad he did. I would otherwise find my towel in the yard when I woke up.
